I do declare, the recession is over. I felt it slipping away last year, and definitely this year is better than last. That is, if you use what is happening on Caye Caulker as an economic indicator. For certain areas in the U.S. the recession will never be over, because those areas and industries have always been in trouble. Its over because I say its over. But even so, many of my white middle class friends are still mad that Obama won the election. We survived Bush, believe me, you will survive Obama. Stop whining. Or as we say here in Belize, "Cry cry baby suck Momma big toe."
Remember when we were 25 (mid 80s) replacing those 50 year old dinosaurs who refused to jump on the train of technology? The rules have changed and we're working harder and longer and just have to get used to the fact that those days are OVER. I can't even change myself, let alone anyone else, but if I could, I would remove the following statement out of our collective belief system, "I shouldn't have to _(fill in the blank)_." I would take a giant white rubber eraser and rub that right out of my brain.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air;
If you listen carefully now you will hear.
This could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last:
Many more will have to suffer,
Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.
Things are not the way they used to be,
I won't tell no lie;
One and all have to face reality now.
'Though I've tried to find the answer to all the questions they ask.
'Though I know it's impossible to go livin' through the past -
Don't tell no lie.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air -
Can't keep them down -
If you listen carefully now you will hear.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air.
This could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last:
Many more will have to suffer,
Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air -
I won't tell no lie;
If you listen carefully now you will hear:
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air.
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air.
If you listen carefully now you will hear.

ok ok, i will join you in not saying "i shouldn't have to" ... but it's so my habit to say I shouldn't have to make my own coffee....etc. I guess I still have "why am I not..." ((billionaire))
lovely poem...
We have our fair share of whingers here. One chap was on tv going on about how, in Trinidad, you'd find one family having 3 cars, why do people here have to struggle and can't be as wealthy as folks in Trinidad?
