Sad News
Popeye passed away Easter weekend. He had been sick for a while, and was taken to Belize City on a stretcher whwere he died at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Anyone who has been to Caye Caulker would remember his sometimes silly, sometimes inspired signs all around Caye Caulker.

That is very sad to here. He seemed to be an icon of Caye Caulker. His sign work will be missed. Malibu Mal
Really sorry to hear that, a wonderful if erratic memory of CC. Popeye painted the outside of my travel diary when I visited a couple of years ago. I still have one of his unique works of art on my desk at work.
I was a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown before I retired at the age of 40 and moved to Belize (17 years ago). I live 20 miles offshore on a teensy weensy tiny island called Caye Caulker, where I have an art gallery and healthy food cafe featuring my art, silk scarves, jewellery and local Belizean artists. Now, I'm a woman living in the moment accepting all the gifts that the universe has to offer.
