Practice Makes Perfect

My Mom is coming for a short visit to escape from the frozen North.

So, Bigness and I are practicing:
Closing the bathroom door
Not talking with our mouths full of food
Eating with silverware

Things that he still need to work on:
Bathroom sounds and running commentary describing things even with the door closed, the prolific use of the word FOK and wearing shoes.

Things that I still need to work on:
Brushing my hair, the use of room spray and not walking around in my underwear

We wouldn´t want her to think we are animals of course, but when you´re not out there trying to impress someone, its amazing how you let things go.

lol...ah boy, what a day when one cant find comfort in one's own home, if only for temporal visits...

(PS doesnt the use of the word one just make everything sound more sophisticated?)

sometimes I think I've been living alone too long, but looks like it's not just living alone that does it....

FOK - its a noun its a verb its an adjective its an adverb. If we could only make it a pronoun.

My mom is very lady-like, she could run a charm school. I could not have fallen farther from the tree.

All this talk of manners and closing your mouth while chewing is making Bigness nervous. I won't even mention holding your hand over your mouth when you sneeze.

"Fudge" is a good substitute. You can stress the 'fffff' as in "Oh fffffffffudge."

As for wearing shoes in the house...well, tell your mum that in many cultures, people walk barefoot in the house, it is more hygienic [how do you spell dis word, man?] Heh, unless you're talking about wearing shoes on the road...?

Hi Lee,

Nice blog..... I don't think our mothers know exactly where we live.

No need to change our habits.
