It started out as just a sideline, relaxing, fun almost like a board game and its turned into what I do in the store when I have spare time. Bigness made a cabinet for me to work on and I'm cranking out strands of beads and pearls and semi precious stones, neclaces, bracelets, earrings galore. The great thing about making jewelry is that when its finished, if you don't like it you just cut it apart!
wow! very beautiful...
ReplyDeleteNice stuff. It can eb very relaxing, and like you say, forgiving too. It's not so easy to undo a mistake with a paintbrush.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had real training on how to so this, I could possibly make a career out of it.
ReplyDeletevery cool- my favorite is the one with silver tubes and face! is that a necklace or bracelet?
ReplyDeleteby my job there are these stores with so many different beeds i always walk by saying i'll make a necklace then i just get lazy..
I started making jewellery just over a year ago and I find it so fulfilling. I can now make beautiful things to match any outfit I have. I love getting compliments on my pieces and everyone is so amazed at how I manage to always have the perfect accessories to match my outfit.
ReplyDeleteI have taken a few formal classes but I learn a lot from the internet too. Try about.com as they have lots of step by step instructions and pictures on different jewellery techniques.
Wow, I love those beads. You really are something, the way you just do!
ReplyDeleteAnother WOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic and original!
Lovely jewelry, I am always admiring the ones you have in the store
ReplyDeleteI noticed you appreciated the movie Islands in the Stream. Let this comment be a diversion from your aesthetic toward your asceticism. I was watching that movie the other day, and like the peering eyes of an India samyasa, half-closed, I wanted to know suddenly what it was the old man was looking at--in this case the tried & true eyes of George C. Scott in character. I perceive the distance those eyes accumulate, I wanted to wave my hand before its silence. My front door is opened before the storm door, & I look to the wind in the trees=things go on, very animated, it has the pulse with no yield to the report of my solace & my insignificance occurs to me. I am a small part of this world/ an identity moment can be acute & tipped off by small nuanced days of interplay. I want to immerse--hey Venus, Hey solomein, eclipsing my way!!
ReplyDeleteAle, its a bracelet.
ReplyDeleteIsland Girl- thanks for the tip. I also found some step-by-step instruction at jewelrysupply.com
